PRAYER MISSION

WHAT IS OPEN DOOR?

Open Door is a2f’s 7-week summer prayer challenge. For 7-weeks, we’ll pray for ourselves and for the UC Berkeley campus as we prepare for the upcoming fall semester.

OUR KEY VERSE

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Colossians 4:2-4

THE CHALLENGE

Part 1: Tribe Prayer Nights

Every Tuesday night, we’ll meet by tribes on campus @ 8p to participate in various “prayer missions.” Join us!

  • South Tribe: Kroeber Fountain

  • North Tribe: Campanile

  • West Tribe: Sproul Fountain

*If you’re not sure what tribe you’re in, ask your staff.

Part 2: 8:21

We’re challenging every member of a2f to set aside 5 minutes of prayer at 8:21am or 8:21p to pray for yourself and for UCB. Why 8:21? Because UCB’s fall semester begins on 8/21 with GBO.

Not sure how to pray @ 8:21? Download the 8:21 prayer guide below.

Submissions

  • Complete that week’s tribe prayer mission during your tribe prayer night

    • New missions will be posted online every Monday, and every week’s mission will involve a photo. Submit your photo to the link above to get points! Limit 1 submission/tribe.

  • Participate in personal prayer at 8:21 (am/pm)

    • Snap a photo of yourself praying at 8:21am/pm. The photo should include something indicating it’s 8:21 (e.g. watch) and the 8:21 prayer guide (or whatever you are using to help you pray, e.g. notebook, bible, etc).

    • Post this on your own instagram account with #opendoor and mention our a2f instagram account to get a point. If you don’t have instagram, you can submit your photo using the button above.
